Same difference

Speaking of Ashbery and impressionists, Yaakov, what is the difference between language poetry and the art of Lawrence Weiner? In Silence, John Cage questioned what difference exists between the sound of an expertly played violin and the sound of an expertly driven truck. Same difference?

I wonder if Cage influenced Weiner. Cage's "Four Statements on the Dance" could have been stenciled on those gallery walls and nobody would know the difference.

And think about that queer idiom, "same difference." It's a poem in itself, isn't it?
